During the evening on February 8 2006 Clive Brooke, from United Kingdom,  informed Antony C.Cook he had  observed that the dark areas on the floor of Plato were "coming and going".
He owns a refractor of 4".

At 20.17 local, he called  Cook to talk about this strange phenomenon.
We report  the original message that Antony Cook has send  to us:

"No craterlets could be seen - which he found was odd. This  effect was not visible in other features - so he assumed was not seeing  related.  At 20:17 he phoned me and we talked whilst he was looking through  his telescope. During the conversation he noted two of these effects at  20:17:58 and 20:18:12  (I wrote down the times at my end of the telephone).
I then proceeded to text, email and phone Italian observers, Brendan Shaw,  my Mother (she was clouded out) and David Darling of ALPO.
There were more observers I could have contacted, but I was missing out on observing  myself.
So I proceeded to take some white light video through my 8"  Newtoian telescope. The video was started at 20:37UT and I repeated short  video sessions of Plato periodically until ~21:50UT.  This video recording  needs still to be examined.  I phoned Clive up later and he said that the  effects at his end finished at about 20:31UT - which is unfortunately  before I started to video"

Here's, instead, the report of Mr Clive Brook:

19-54 hrs UT Commenced observing Plato.
-20-10 hrs UT Noticed dark patches appearing and disappearing on floor of Plato. Occasional views of central craterlet as white spot. Seeing good.
No sign  of trembling on Teneriff Mts. or Straight Range
20-26 hrs UT Dark Patches which last about 1-2 secs dieing out.
20-31 hrs UT Floor detail now visible.\ 20-34 hrs UT Stopped observing.
4" OG x216 used. Seeing good. Moon at high altitude."

Piergiovanni Salimbeni has informed the Italian collaborators of GLR TLP Network in few minutes by phone.
Unfortunately in the center and in the  south part of Italy the sky was cloudy, and in certain areas partial cloudy.
In the North part of Italy the seeing was very poor 1/5.
Salimbeni, with a Visac VMC 200 has taken some insufficient images of Plato,  (IMAGE 1)
an a short movie at 21.40 local--->movie 11MB!( .MOV- 11MB, )

Then he observed the floor of Plato, using a blue and red filter.
The atmospheric condition has not permitted to him to use magnification over 50x:
so..Salimbeni, was not able to verify the presence of the effects observed by Clive Brook.

Giancarlo Vignale,  an active collaborator of TLP NEWTORK ,due of his work, has taken some sufficient images at 22.54 local, (|IMAGE2-3) then the end of the effects examined by Clive Brook ,  so, also in this way, was too late to see the probable effects.

Paco Bellido, from Spain has send to us an image of Plato taken 22.10UT (IMAGE3)

Unfortunately the only images taken during the timetable cited from Brooke, are only those of Salimbeni.
Who had ulterior images or observation will can write to us to salimbeni@glrgroup.org
