Inès Abdel Daim (Flute)

Started her studies in an early age at the Cairo Conservatoire and got her bachelor with an excellent degree. Inès obtained a scholarship to study in France until 1990, where she got her Masters and Ph.D with excellent degree from the High Institute of Music in Paris.

During her studies, she obtained her High Diploma in Teaching Flute (1984), High Diploma in Performing (1985), High Diploma in Chamber Music (1986), High Diploma in Solo Performing in Chamber Music (1988), and High Diploma in Solo Performing on Flute (1989). She gave many concerts during her artistic life for example: recitals in France and concerts with the International UNESCO Orchestra in France.


Moreover, soloist with the Conservatoire Orchestra, Cairo Symphony Orchestra and the Egyptian Chamber Orchestra, she had artistic tours in many European countries like: Czech, Italy, Germany, Spain, Japan, USA, North Korea, Morocco, Tunisia, United Arab of Emirates, Greece and Syria,

Inès presented many programs on radio & T.V broadcasting like Radio France in France and Egyptian T.V. She participated in recording Gamal Abdel Rahim’s works in Germany and Cairo. She also participated in many local and international competitions: she received the 1st prize from the Musical Institutions Union in France (1982), 2nd prize in General Competitions for Music & Drama in France, a Certificate of Merit from the International Competition in Flute (Japan), a prize for the Best Flutist in South Korea Festival in Arts, and the Creation Prize from the Academy of Arts (Egyptian Ministry of Culture).

She was invited as a professor in master classes in Syria and represented Egypt in the Mediterranean Orchestra Festival in France. She was the first Egyptian to participate in the Festival. Inès represented Egypt in many international festivals like Nantes Festival for Arts in 1995 (France) and the last one was El Rehat Festival for Arts in Morocco and Solonik Festival for Creative Women in Greece.

Currently, she is a professor at the Academy of Arts. She is the first flutist in Cairo Symphony Orchestra. In 1999, she founded a class for flute teaching for children at the Cairo Opera House. She was awarded a prize for being one of the most prominent Egyptian women in this century. In 2001, she was awarded the State Prize in Arts. Presently, Inès Abdel Daim is Director of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra and Dean of the Cairo Conservatoire.
