Renowned Irish-born stage, motion picture, and television actor of the 1950s thru 2002. Unforgettable as the lead in the 1970 western "A Man Called Horse." Other films include "Patriot Games," "Unforgiven," and the series of "Harry Potter" movies, in which he played the role of 'Professor Albus Dumbledore.' He was also a singer, scoring a popular hit with songwriter Jimmy Webb's "MacArthur Park" in 1968. Married for a time to actress Ann Turkel. (bio by: A.J. Marik)
