THE RCA AGA 2007 IN WINNIPEG
CELEBRATING 127 YEARS!

During its 127th Annual General Assembly, in Winnipeg, June 21 to 24, the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA) will celebrate the election of new members and the award of RCA scholarships, RCA Trust Fund acquisition grants and RCA medals, at the President's Reception and Dinner, June 22, at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

The Royal Canadian Academy of Arts is one of Canada's most enduring cultural institutions. Today's Academy is composed of over 700 established professionals working across Canada in 20 visual arts disciplines; from painting and sculpture to architecture, design, fine craft, photography and filmmaking. The RCA continues to consider new forms of visual expression as they emerge.

Twenty Canadian artists and designers will be inducted into membership in the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. Elected by their peers, new members are recognized for their significant contribution through their work, to the visual arts in Canada.

RCA scholarships will be presented to five well deserving students in support of their further artistic education. Through its scholarship program the RCA seeks to encourage and support emerging artists from across the country.

RCA Trust Fund acquisition grants have for 33 years been given annually to regional public galleries for the purchase and exhibition of the work of living Canadian artists. These awards are one of the ways in which the Academy seeks to facilitate an understanding by all Canadians of the visual arts as an aspect of our national identity, as cultural expression, and as a source of social capital in our culturally diverse country.
