PUBLIC PROGRAMS
The Miller Center and MacNeil/Lehrer Productions have announced their partnership to produce a National Discussion and Debate Series to address major issues facing the United States its role in the world, its responsibilities to its citizens, and how it fulfills the founding principles. The first debate is scheduled for Tuesday, September 18 at the historic Rotunda at the University of Virginia.
GOP strategist and Edward W. Gillespie assumes a new role as White House counselor this summer. Gillespie, who is stepping down from the chairmanship of the Virginia Republican Party, discussed the 2006 midterm elections in a Miller Center Forum in January.
