PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN DEAD-MANS-CHEST

Dead-Mans-Chest Spoiler from a Possible Script

In Dead-Mans-Chest Jacks back, you remember after Jack escaped from Commodore Norrington”s grasp, we left him as he rejoined the Back Pearl as Captain of his scurvy crew in the Pirates of the Caribbean Curse of the Black Pearl. He sails off into the horizon singing really rotten eggs with a compass that doesn’t not point North.

Now this time he finds himself among another bunch of immortals, but it is Jack who has a blood debt owed to Davey Jones who has sailed in on the Flying Dutchman to collect the Jacks debt. Boot Strap Bill Turner also plays a part but it is Jack who must find the solution or join them for eternity.

The sands of time are running out for Jack it looks like he is doomed to eternal damnation and servitude in the next life. But as we know Jacks a savvy pirate and he will not succumb easily, much to the chagrin of Will and Elizabeth who are about to be joined in holy matrimony. Jack puts a stop to that and enrolls them to help him repay the debt to Davey Jones.

Sadly Keith Richard was to have played a cameo part in dead-mans-chest but unfortunately his schedule was to busy for him to participate. Jacks character is based on the famous Rolling Stone.

Chapter 1 dead-mans-chest

Starts out with two wooden coffins are floated out to the sea and a crow lands on one. The bird gets shot, and then out of the coffin comes out captain jack sparrow himself.

Jack gets aboard the Black Pearl and he tells his crew that he has found a piece of cloth and that it is a drawing of a key. Mr. Gibbs says, “Why do we need the cloth” and Jack says “we just need it”. Mr. Gibbs says to the crew “Jack has been acting very strange lately”.

Chapter 2 dead-mans-chest

Will turner and Elizabeth's wedding is ruined because of the weather and then these royal navy sailors come and hand a warrant to Elizabeth’s father Stating that Elizabeth, Will and Commodore Norrington are under arrest but Commodore Norrington has disappeared and has not been seen by anyone on the island. The guards arrest Will and Elizabeth and throw them into jail.

Chapter 3 dead-mans-chest

Jack on board the Black Pearl checking his compass saying something is bloody wrong with it. From behind bootstrap bill appears and says that its Jacks time is pay. Davy Jones will not wait any longer; Jack is concerned as to bootstraps appearance.

Bootstrap conveys that he was on the bottom of the ocean for a long time and eventually he made a deal with Davy Jones to join his crew. Bootstrap touches Jack's hand and the dark spot appears in his palm. Bootstrap disappears (like in the trailer) Jack gets scared and tells his crew to keep sailing the Black Pearl and to find any sort of landfall. Mr. Gibbs says, “Jacks acting strange again”.

Chapter 4 dead-mans-chest

The man that arrested Will and Elizabeth is Lord Beckett and that he wants Will to find and get Jacks compass for him. Keeping Elizabeth as a hostage forcing Will to go to Tortugas to find Jack, The pirates in Tortugas pass the Jack has gone to Singapore. Will does not believe this so he snoops around and spots the Black Pearl at the small island next to Tortugas so he travel’s to the island and there he gets shot with a dart from a blowpipe.

While Will is on the island he wakes up to see himself being strapped to a piece of wood and being carried by the cannibal people of the island. As it turns out their leader is non other then ......Jack Sparrow! Will asks Jack to let him go, but jack is speaking in another language to the natives but he mumbles, “help me” in English to Will.

Will gets put in a cage where the crew of the Black Pearl are being held. They say they have been captured and that these people think that Jack is their god only in human form so the natives wont to eat Jack so the god will not be in human form.

Chapter 5 dead-mans-chest

The latest from the gossips and the reputed book out now

Okay, I just got this book and here are some interesting facts from it. Some of this stuff has already been posted from other sources, but I'm repeating it to show that it is in this book as well. There is stuff from POTC 1 and 2. I don't know that everything that is in this book will be in the movie. Some of it might be from early drafts of the script, or just background info Ted and Terry have come up with. If you've never seen a book from the DK series, they are a little like encyclopedias, not fiction books. It was written by Richard Platt who is an expert on Pirates and was a costume consultant on DMC. There is a lot in here about wardrobe. This is all paraphrase and condensed versions of the information in the book. The words in italics are my observations.

Jack Sparrow was born on a pirate ship during a typhoon. So either his mother was a pirate, or had been taken by pirates. Of the two, I hope she WAS a pirate!

His hat has sentimental value and he has trapped scorpions in it's crown. Given to him by a friend? Or maybe it was his father's? The hat, I mean, not the scorpions.

The compass has supernatural power, it directs the owner to whatever his or her heart desires, and Jack acquired it from Tia Dalma 7 years ago.

Jack escaped from the Turkish prison by sneaking out in an (already occupied) coffin. He rows to The Black Pearl. How did they know when he was going to escape?

Jack traded silk from China to a fencing master from Italy for swordsmanship lessons.

Jack taught himself to shoot by aiming at bottles thrown from the rail of The Black Pearl.

Port Royal is on the eastern tip of Jamaica and defends the larger Fort Charles.

The sinking boat Jack arrives on in POTC:COBP is a fishing trawler and it was named Jolly Mon. Which is an old Jamaican folktale and a great Jimmy Buffet song!

The Governor's mansion is in the nicest part of town, the St. Paul's district.

There are 8 years between the flashback in POTC:COBPO and the movie.

Will's master is named John Brown. Darn, I have to change my fic now!

Will engraved his name on his sword.

Norrington becomes obsessed with catching Jack Sparrow. He orders his crew to sail through a hurricane in pursuit, which wrecks the ship and gets him fired from the Navy. He becomes a penniless drunk.

Barbossa wears blue ostrich feathers in his hat and his buttons are made from melted down Incan silver. He obtained his gun from a Spanish pirate who challenged him to a duel, and lost. His ring was plundered from a Venetian ship and bears a small gold lion's head.

Ragetti's coat was stolen from a French nobleman.

Joshamee Gibbs is an old friend of Jack's. He served briefly in the Royal Navy but deserted his post to turn back to piracy.

Elizabeth thinks she's been left at the altar when Will doesn't arrive for their wedding. She is standing in the rain waiting for him when Lord Cutler Beckett arrives with a squadron of Royal Marines and Will in handcuffs. He has warrants for Will, Elizabeth and Norrington.

Keira Knightly says she was not sure about the first movie until she went to see the premiere with Orlando Bloom, but once the movie was under way both she and orlando thought it was great.
