Back on Track

Regular visitors to the site no doubt noticed a severe lack of updates over the last few months. I have spent the last few days getting things back in order: getting the news up-to-date, clearing the spammers from the forums, working on the next RPG Database update, etc. There is still quite a bit to do, but you should be seeing things pick up around here.

DragonWing Games releases Lore of the Gods

Deities from literature and history have long had a place in fantasy campaigns. Egyptian, Greek, Norse and Mesopotamian pantheons all contribute to the lore, superstitions and cosmology that make fantasy roleplaying so popular. For the first time in print, these pantheons are presented for the d20 system in a completely Open Game Content format for the 3.5 revised edition rules. Learn about the gods themselves, their avatars, the divine artifacts they possess, and their interactions with other deities.

Lore of the Gods by DragonWing Games/Bastion Press breaks down the Egyptian, Greek, Norse and Mesopotamian mythologies into gaming terms that will enhance your campaign and provide new elements to incorporate into your world. Familiar deities, monsters and heroes grace the interior of this tome. In addition, new artifacts, prestige classes, domains, spells, templates, skills, feats and forbidden lore await discovery. The power of Zeus, the wisdom of Odin, the knowledge of Thoth, and the evil malice of Lilith all reside inside these pages. Do you dare unlock the secrets of the gods?

Lore of the Gods is fully bookmarked and comes with a hypermarked Table of Contents. At 321 pages in length, this book will fill the needs of many players and GMs alike who are looking to add more mythology to their game.

Layonara Studios Releaes - Goblin and Orc Hordes

Layonara Studios has released Goblin Hordes and Orc Hordes for game masters around the world.

These publications are intended to fall in to the hands of game masters that wish to have a clan of orcs or goblins to torment their players with. Each orc and goblin clan as well as individual orc or goblin is able to be dropped into any location within any world with little to no work involved on the part of the GM. Included is a short description of each clan’s beliefs and outlook on life and four types of orcs and goblins within the clan that do battle with opponents. There is also a defined loot drop for each clan and gorgeous encounter cards for each creature defined. For those that like good artwork there are many fantastic illustrations included as well.

All the GM needs to do is print out the clan or creature information, sit at the table, roll the dice, and hide the GM smile that so many players know and love--as well as fear.

93 Games Studio releases Pride Goes Before a Fall

Pride Goes Before a Fall” is d20 fantasy adventure for 20th-level characters. This module can be used as part of an existing campaign or simply used as a one-off battle royal.

Test your might against a mighty balor. This adventure will pit you and your party up against one of the deadliest creatures around. Are you tough enough to go mano-a-mano with this legendary creature? Jump in and take Blazon’s challenge if you dare.

“You have heard of Blazon Rodomontade, mostly because he has been responsible for all the rumors about him. The rakish sorcerer has been a scourge to noblewomen and peasant wives alike, a dashing hero who has never had a hair out of place, even in the deepest, dankest dungeon. You also know that he started an on-going arena challenge called Blazon’s Dare years ago. Every month, a group of adventurers takes on his challenge to fight a balor in Balzon’s Dungeon Arena.

The sorcerer promised the winning party 80,000 gp, a single item worth 140,000 gp, or three months of his service. They also can claim the spoils of all the defeated adventurers over the years, as well as the fame it will bring.

The terms of the challenge are that Blazon teleports you to the Dungeon Arena, and you stay there until you are defeated or you defeat the balor. He has no responsibility to bring your bodies back to the surface, so once you are down there you cannot retreat. Any attempt to escape or teleport results in a disqualification.

Obviously, no one has succeeded and the balor waits in the Dungeon Arena to be defeated.”

Explore the World of Ordûn Online

Our World of Ordûn role playing supplements and adventures all reference lands within, well, the World of Ordûn. So what is the World of Ordûn? What are the Pyrianthine Lands that Westbrook and The Master's Decree speak of? A Collection of Fantastic Weapons refers to lots of different places. What are they? Read on to find out, and to explore the rest of the World of Ordûn Fantasy World Setting!

If you look at the right-hand column on the 3am Games web site, you will see a new box entitled The World of Ordûn. Within this box is a link to an introduction to the world. Click it and read the basics.

In the coming weeks and months, we'll post more information about Ordûn and the lands within. This week's article describes the difference between the World of Ordûn and ordinary campain settings that we've seen so many of. Next week, look for an overview of the world - including a beautifully rendered map from cartographer Keith Curtis!

As we introduce new lands within the World of Ordûn, links will appear in our World of Ordûn box. You'll find an overview of each, along with descriptions of various important people and places. Over time, you'll see a pretty comprehensive overview of the World of Ordûn.

It's important to remember that, just because a new link to a new land doesn't show up in the box, it doesn't mean that there's no new information available. Keep checking back, and poke around the links. You'll find plenty of new fodder for your games, and all of those refrences in the World of Ordûn books that you already have will start to make sense!

Visit Firefly Games at www.firefly-games.com for more information.

Og, available in PDF in July and print in August, streamlines the rules but keeps all the laughs for a positively prehistoric good time. Play a caveman trying to overcome your own stupidity and limited vocabulary in a loopy world of dinosaurs, giant wombats, and even weirder stuff.

Lone Wolf is Back

Launched in the 80's, the Lone Wolf series of gamebooks quickly became firm favourites among a growing fan base. Alone among the gamebooks of their day, Lone Wolf was the only one to feature a cohesive and exciting world, and an extended campaign in which your character could grow and expand as he travelled through all 28 books of the original series.

Prepare to return to the world of Magnamund. The original gamebooks are being revised and updated with additional storylines, quests and adventures, together with stunning new artwork. The series kicks off with Flight From the Dark, now weighing in at a massive 450 pages. No longer left for dead at the Kai Monastery, Lone Wolf has to fight his way clear to raise the alarm.

Subsequent books have all been revised with new material. The first of the new Lone Wolf gamebooks will appear in your local book stores in September 2007 - however, hardbound Collector's Copies will be available, only direct from Mongoose Publishing, at the end of July. Together, they form a superb looking and durable archive of the adventures of Lone Wolf.
