HOUSTON -- Shelley Sekula-Gibbs will soon begin her short stay as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, KPRC Local 2 reported Friday.

Sekula-Gibbs will be sworn in at the U.S. Capitol building on Monday.

She will serve the remainder of former congressman Tom DeLay's term. DeLay resigned from the seat earlier this year.

Sekula-Gibbs will represent U.S. District 22 for about seven weeks. She will turn over the seat to Democrat Nick Lampson in January.
