Project Area Overview
The Pico Union 1 Redevelopment Project is located approximately two miles southwest of the core of the Los Angeles Central Business District and adjacent to the expanded Los Angeles Convention Center and newly constructed Staples Center Arena.  The Redevelopment Plan for the area sets forth several goals including the preservation and expansion of affordable housing, economic development, construction of new public improvements and improvement of the community’s appearance through the rehabilitation of existing residential properties and businesses. not meet established planning and zoning standards for economic development.  The project is included in the CRA/LA Hollywood & Central Regional Area.
