On September 18, 2007, the Alberta Royalty Review Panel presented its final report to the Government of Alberta. The report calls for significantly higher royalties and taxes, but suggests there will be no overall impact on industry investment, activity and growth. Many voices are expressing strong concern that the panel’s recommendations would weaken the oil and gas industry, Alberta’s economy and, in the end, government revenue.
