By Lori Rochelle Roniger
Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus are advised to exercise but those who also suffer from peripheral neuropathy can find themselves dealing with a conundrum-told to exercise but to choose only nonweight-bearing activities such as swimming and bicycling. Diabetic patients with active ulcers are given even more stringent warnings to avoid weight-bearing physical activity.
