Coming up: XIMB II
Monday May 7 2007 05:34 IST

BHUBANESWAR: Campus II of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, will be more techno-savvy than the existing one and is set to offer new management programmes.

The new facility, which is expected to come up over 100 acres of land on the outskirts of the city, would auger well for thousands of management aspirants looking for a seat in the institute.

With the surge in demand and opening of new opportunities, one can expect a sharp drop in the number of students venturing to other States due to shortage of seats.

XIMB has been consistently ranked among the top 10 B-schools in the country, recording hundred percent placement results year after year.

Director Fr E Abraham said the campus would come up by 2012, coinciding with XIMB’s silver jubilee celebration. It will emulate all characteristics of the existing institute.

The present infrastructure is spread over only 20 acres of land, much smaller compared to leading B-schools in the country. The move for the new campus can be attributed to factors like increasing demand from students to study in XIMB and the industrialisation drive in the State, besides corporate India’s keenness to recruit more students from the campus.

About 15,000 students had applied for the two-year full time post-graduate programme in business management this year.

XIMB offers five programmes in management which include a two-year post-graduate programme in rural management. The other programmes include a four-year doctoral-level fellow programme in management and a one year Post-Graduate certificate in business management.
