Dundee


In terms of its ethnic profile, Dundee is very similar to the overall picture for Scotland. It has a smaller overall white population (96% against 98% for Scotland as a whole) due to its relatively small proportion of White British residents (5.4% against 7.4%).

Dundee has the second-largest proportion of Asian residents in Scotland, behind only Glasgow. According to the 2001 census, nearly 3,500 (2.3%) of Dundee's 146,000 residents are Asian. Nearly half (1,700) are of Pakistani origin.
