KANGAROO legend Glenn Archer has marked his 300th game with
a nomination for the 2007 AFL Army Award alongside Essendon's Andrew Lovett and
Collingwood's Paul Medhurst.
The AFL Army Award recognises the extra efforts and
one-percent acts of individuals that help the team to victory.
Archer was nominated for a trademark spoil on Bulldogs’
Daniel Giansiracusa and his second effort to pick himself up off the ground and
gain possession
Lovett’s earned a nomination for a brilliant chase and
desperate tackle on Melbourne’s Matthew Bate
Paul Medhurst caught our eye with a relentless chase and
diving tackle on Hawthorn’s Xavier Ellis

The round 12 AFL Army Award winner is Fremantle’s Steven
Dodd.
Dodd received 44 per cent of the votes for his outstanding
perseverance to chase down and tackle the Bulldogs’ Brad Johnson
The AFL Army Award is a new award for the 2007 season that
recognises match day acts which demonstrate courage, initiative and teamwork.
At the end of the home and away season, the All Australian
selection committee will shortlist the 22 weekly winning acts to six
nominations which will then be voted on by the public via afl.com.au.
The All Australian selection committee will then endorse the
winner.
The 2007 AFL Army Award winner will receive a $10,000 Army
Experience. The award will be presented at the 2007 Coca-Cola All Australian
presentation dinner.
