Knighthawks record franchise record ninth straight win

Pat O'Toole recorded 34 saves and only allowed ten goals in Saturday's 12-10 win over the Philadelphia Wings.
The Rochester Knighthawks defeated the Philadelphia Wings 12-10 at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester on Saturday night in front of 11,200 fans. The win is a team record ninth straight victory. Ken Millin scored five points on three goals and two assists to lead Rochester's offense while Pat O'Toole recorded 34 saves and only allowed ten goals in the win. Sean Greenhalgh lead the Wings with five points on three goals and two assists in the loss.

Rochester's Shawn Evans and John Grant each scored twice in the first half as the Knighthawks dominated, outscoring the Wings 8-3. In the third quarter Rochester extended their lead as Mike Accursi opened the half with his second score of the game, giving the Knighthawks a 9-3 advantage. Then, after Philadelphia's Sean Greenhalgh and Rochester's Ken Millin traded goals, the Wings closed the gap, scoring three consecutive goals, including two by Jake Bergey. Rochester lead 11-7 heading into the final frame.

In the fourth quarter Ken Millin scored his third goal of the game to extend Rochester's lead to 12-7, a lead the Wings could not overcome despite three consecutive goals by Peter Jacobs, Jeff Ratcliffe and Athan Iannucci. Rochester went home with a franchise record ninth straight victory.

The Knighthawks improve to a league best 11-2 record while the Wings suffered their second loss of the weekend and fell to 5-8.

The Wings return to action next Saturday as they host the New York Titans at Wachovia Center at 7:30 PM Eastern. The Knighthawks host the Minnesota Swarm next weekend before closing the season with a crucial home-and-home series with the Buffalo Bandits.
