Information About The Samarkand Region
The Samarkand region was established on January 15, 1938. It benefits from a favorable geographic position in the center of Uzbekistan and enjoys the most favorable climate and natural conditions. The climate of the region is harsh-continental; up to 300 sunny days with average duration of 15 hours of light during the summer. The administrative, economical and cultural center is Samarkand City (354 km from Tashkent), originally founded in VII century B.C. with a great historical heritage stretching back almost 3000 years. |
