Full renovation of the Grade II listed Waterloo Pavilions on Church Street is now completed and only one of the stunning units is still available to let.

The three historic buildings had been empty and in a state of disrepair for 13 years, when funding was finally secured from North West Development Agency and the Heritage Lottery Fund. In February last 2003, work started on the £1.3million renovation project to bring the buildings back into use.

The architect’s design for the buildings has seen a sympathetic blend of modern and historic features to create an imposing parade. The three existing buildings have been fully restored and connected by striking steel and glass structures, providing a versatile space for high quality retail and leisure uses.

Once environmental improvements to Church Street were finished, the regeneration of the Waterloo Pavilions was essential to the areas success in becoming a focus for activity, and the stunning transformation of the buildings is already helping to attract new businesses to the area.

The first new tenant, Alan Rene hairdressers and beauty salon opened for business in June 2005, follwed by Cafe Beee's in October 2005.

The final unit will be playing host to part of the c21 exhibition until April 2005, after which it will be marketed to let for retail use.
