The dream is alive! Previously, we reported that the Bob Ross game was peril. Happy peril, but peril nonetheless. MTV's Stephen Totilo brings word that the game is still on. While things didn't work out with the title's previous developer, AGFRAG Entertainment Group, Bob Ross Inc. hasn't thrown in the paintbrush. Says the company's media director Jane Kowalski:
By hook or by crook there will be a game. There's no way we couldn't do a game because everybody wants one badly.
Yes, yes, hooks and crooks, YES!! So, what happened with those AGFRAG Entertainment what's-its-face?
I think they were sort of overwhelmed and they don't have the resources and the energy to tend to the huge demand that is needed. We are currently working on digging up the development team that has the swift enthusiasm to carry through.
Damn straight. This is Bob Ross, people. Publishers are swooping Bob Ross Inc. to make the title happen. The company is dead-set on getting it to the Wii and expects to make an update on progress shortly. Bring on those happy little trees.

I used to watch his show on public access every day after school in junior high. the man was a machine. plus, you just can't beat a whitefro.
a friend of mine was really stoked to hear about the game when I told him last year (when it was for the DS, right?) anyways, guy's a huge Bob Ross fan, even rocks a Bob Ross t-shirt from time to time, and I'm sure this will solidify his choice to buy a Wii now.
I don't know if this is sad but: When I read the headline for this post, I yelled out "HELL YEA!" and I genuinely meant it. Can't wait for that soothing voice in my ear while I paint those mountains. :)
I'm really looking forward to this game getting made, but if it doesn't have any little rascals and the option of beating the devil out of your brush I'll be pissed.
Don't forget the happy little trees!
Since someone had beat me to the happy tree moment and has a cool Star Wars icon, I will just sit here and sulk in the corner in silent support.
Am I the only one who thinks Bob Ross is way overhyped? I mean, he's a great artist and all, but everytime I'd watch his show I'd fall asleep.
"Don't forget the happy little trees!"
Puff puff pass. ;)
Still dont think this game will happen... that, or it'll suck out loud.
If any game concept is perfect for the Wii, it is be this one.
Really would appeal to the old people Nintendo loves so much as well.
I've been looking forward to a game that uses Wii detection of the Wiimote in 3D space. It's almost more versatile than a graphics tablet... there's a great oppurtunity there!
Maybe they will come out with a Wiicom table for the game...
Ughhh Wiicom tablet
and the joke dies
I'm waiting for the John Kilduff painting game:

Sure, it's still on... But is it on like DONKEY KONG? IS IT??
Prguitarman, that's kind of the point for many of us. What better way to get some extra sleep on a weekday morning than putting some Bob Ross on?
I breathed a big sigh of relief when I read the headline. Bring Bob Ross on! We're ready!
Yeah!!! Woo hoo!! Bob Ross is back, baby!!
"Am I the only one who thinks Bob Ross is way overhyped?"
Dude, it is coming out for the Wii, of course it is overhyped.
Yay for Bob !
Dude, it is coming out for a next gen console, of course it is overhyped.
Fixed that for ya.
Even though a man as awesome as Bob Ross can't be overhyped. It's an impossibility.
I always thought it'd be cool for Ross to do some serious art and go back to his days in 'nam. A Napalmed village, VC in the bush, fields of opium poppies, etc...
It's too bad Bob Ross isn't around to see just how excited people are for a Painting Game. I just hope it doesn't suck.
Also, Enigmanemesis - you need to change your screen name to something more apropos: try "Eeyore" or perhaps "Buzzkill". Oh, I know! "P-in-ur-Wheatiez"!
"We are currently working on digging up the development team that has the swift enthusiasm to carry through."
Read as:
"We want a team who will deliver a product by a certain date, before our license with the property owner falls through. And who is little-known enough that they have no reputation to lose when the game inevitably sucks."
Sorry folks. I was enthused by the possibility of such a wacky game concept too, but it looks like it's going to suck.
"I always thought it'd be cool for Ross to do some serious art and go back to his days in 'nam."
Lol was sideshow bob really a nam vet?!
Come on, Nintendo, pick up the ball. As much as I used to LOVE Mario Paint, this is a perfect Brain-Age-esque opportunity!
"by hook or by crook"? so this Jane Kowalski is Number One? No wonder it's so hard to find out any information about this game.
