A VIDEO image of Sunday night's fire at Alcoa in Banbury has been supplied to banburytoday by witness Jon Evans.
Six fire crews from Banbury, Hook Norton, Deddington, Brackley and Woodstock attended the blaze after receiving an emergency call shortly before 10.30pm.

They were accompanied by specialist support units from Kidlington and Oxford.

The video and two photographs were taken by Mr Evans from a railway bridge off Hennef Way.

Mr Evans said: "I was travelling back home and I could see the flickering glow in the sky from the M40 just south of Kings Sutton.

"I thought the fire must be somewhere in Kings Sutton at first.

"As I arrived in Banbury I tried to get closer because I had my camera with me, but the closest I managed to get was the railway bridge near the reservoir.

"A lot of other sightseers were already on the road so traffic was getting a bit heavy."

It has been confirmed there was one fire at the factory in Southam Road which was separated by employees. Two pallets each holding one tonne of magnesiun caught alight and staff managed to take one pallet outside
using a truck.

Firefighters used 20 large dry powder extinguishers and a large quantity of sand to extinguish the first blaze. The outside fire was left to burn out under the control of fire crews.

There were no injuries or fatalities to either staff or fire crews.

Thames Valley Police cordoned off the area throughout the night and firefighters eventually left the scene at about 1am.
