My Bloody Dublin Reunion?  E-mail

Promoters are refusing to confirm speculation that My Bloody Valentine have been approached to play at the forthcoming series of concerts in the grounds of the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Kilmainham.

According to a posting on music website Kevin Shields told a fan he was asked to perform at the gig.

The organisers of Electric Picnic are planning two weeks of concerts in a marquee at IMMA this October and they could be about to secure a big name indie reunion for the occasion.

Kevin Shields has reportedly made no secret of the fact that he and his band have been asked to play at the event.

However, the frontman was non-commital about whether or not they had said yes.

Shields is also said to have confirmed the release of a completely new album, as well as an anthology of unreleased nineties material.

A My Bloody Valentine tour for 2008 is also reportedly on the cards.

A spokesperson for Pod concerts told Phantom News that the series of gigs in Kilmainham have yet to be finalised, and refused to comment on whether My Bloody Valentine will be on the line up.
