Liebling wings to Fox

Exec to be senior production veep

Deborah Liebling

20th Century Fox has tapped former Comedy Central programming exec Deborah Liebling as senior VP, production.

Liebling, who ankled from Comedy Central in early April after six years, arrives at Fox with a resume including development and supervision of "South Park," "The Man Show," "Primetime Glick," "That's My Bush," "Battlebots," and "Win Ben Stein's Money." She also oversaw creative supervision of "The Sweet Spot" and "Crank Yankers" and served as co-producer for the Par feature "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut."

"Debbie has been a star on the frontlines of the comedy business for years, as evidenced by her track record with Comedy Central," said TCF production prexy Hutch Parker. "She's a seasoned executive with a keen eye for talent, and will be a fantastic addition to the Fox team as we continue to deepen our commitment to comedy."

Liebling had been senior VP, original programming and development, at the cable laffer. Prior to joining Comedy Central, Liebling served as West Coast exec–in-charge of production for Nickelodeon and supervised West Coast production and development at FX.

Previous production credits include several comedy series for NBC and HBO along with for ABC and VH-1. Liebling also worked as a senior staff producer at MTV where she produced comedy series, live events and music specials.

She's a two-time CableAce Award winner and has twice been nominated for an Emmy Award. Liebling said, "I am excited to bring my experience and expand upon the great relationships I've built in the comedy community to TCF and to join forces with the talented creative team here."

Her slot at Comedy Central remains unfilled.
