RSS, an acronym for Really Simple Syndication, is a way of syndicating content from one site to other websites or individual computers. A website can allow other sites to publish some of its content by creating an RSS document and registering the document with an RSS publisher.

 Episcopal Life Online RSS Feed

The Episcopal Life Online content feed and RSS feed are provided for use by ENS members and related institutions. Use this code at your own risk.

RSS Feeds can be displayed in 2 ways:

Using web programming languages:
Webmasters proficient in web programming languages (ASP, ASP .NET, JSP, PHP, etc) will be able to consume the RSS Feed via code, and format the content to look any way they like. Some resources for consuming RSS Feeds with web programming languages are:

» http://www.aspnetworld.com/articles/2004010401.aspx (ASP .NET)
» http://www.howtodothings.com/ViewArticle.aspx?Article=92 (JavaScript)

Using an RSS aggregator (sometimes referred to as a newsreader):
Users can have content from any RSS feed delivered directly to their desktop. Aggregators are a hybrid of a Web browser and an e-mail program, allowing Web users to peruse hundreds of information sources. The beauty of an aggregator is that it displays articles from hundreds of websites in one place, so the user doesn't have to pull up the sites individually.  A list of aggregators for download is available at:
