Los Angeles (Aug 6th, 2007) – Steve Bellamy, Chairman and CEO of The Ski Channel announced a multi-faceted partnership with preeminent ski filmmaker, Rage Films. The deal includes exclusive and non-exclusive windows for all Rage ski films on The Ski Channel, extensive programming partnerships leveraging Rage’s extensive clip library and future production partnerships. The deal also includes an equity investment on behalf of The Ski Channel into Rage Films, an option to purchase the rest of Rage at a future date and a significant sponsorship on the Rage Ski Film Tour.

“In a category with so many amazing film companies, Rage stands out as their films are filled with such creative, inventive ways to pull off the stunts.,” said Bellamy. “They don’t just make movies featuring a guy doing one more flip than the guy in the last movie did. They are master craftsmen and create cinematic masterpieces. Besides the great movies, now on day one The Ski Channel will have a library of thousands of hours of the best clips and footage shot from all over the world and covering virtually every discipline in snow sports and mountain life. This deal will be an enormous money and time saver for us and will help ensure that we are putting up the best programming humanly possible right out of the box.”

Rage is operated by one of the worlds greatest ski filmmakers, Sky Pinnick who has been making ski movies for nearly 20 years. They have camera operators and cinematographers all over the world and typically produce one new ski film per year in addition to other action sports product. The terms of the deal provide them with an exclusive window on The Ski Channel geared towards jumpstarting the promotion and marketing of each new film. Rage will also partner on other Ski Channel programming and will have premiere positioning for “The Making Of…” shows for all their upcoming films across The Ski Channel media platform.

“We now have the biggest promotional platform imaginable to exhibit and market what we spend everyday so painstakingly and passionately creating,” said Rage Films CEO, Sky Pinnick. “We are in a tremendous growth cycle and it is fitting that out of the large amount of the ski film companies, we are the first to get a deal done with The Ski Channel. It is a partnership that is going to add tremendous value to our business.”

The Ski Channel will make an investment in Rage Films and will have an option to purchase the rest of the company at a later date. The Ski Channel will also be a major sponsor of the annual Rage Films Ski Tour, which brings the latest Rage films across the country to theatres in college and mountain towns.

“It is really rewarding working with the uber talented,” said Bellamy. “Sky is a guy who edited his latest movie on a houseboat in the middle of a lake with no cell phone. It is that kind of focus that makes his pictures so spectacular.”
