Jerusalem Perspective Conference DVDs Released!

Many of you wrote to me in the months preceding our June conference saying,

I so much wanted to attend the "Jerusalem Perspective 2006" Conference in Jerusalem, but unfortunately, I will not be able to come. Will you be filming the conference? Please let me know if recordings of the conference will be available.

I am happy to announce that the conference WAS filmed. The conference talks and special music are now available! This month is the official debut of the DVD set called:"Insights into Jesus of Nazareth: His Words, His Wisdom, His World." The 8-DVD set contains 14 talks given at the "Jerusalem Perspective 2006" Conference, held in Israel on June 19-21, 2006. These addresses, delivered by acclaimed scholars, place Jesus and his sayings in their first-century Jewish context. The speakers are internationally recognized authorities on archaeology, language and the Jewish culture of Jesus' day, and their presentations were uniformly excellent. The set contains over 14 hours of video, and includes other conference highlights such as a recently discovered documentary video of pioneer scholars Dr. Robert Lindsey and Professor David Flusser filmed in 1974.

JP's Perspective on "The Da Vinci Code"

A movie based on The Da Vinci Code is scheduled for release at the end of this week. To help its readers better evaluate Dan Brown's book, Jerusalem Perspective has published "Historical Howlers, Funny and Otherwise: Dan Brown's Backward Understanding of Gnosticism" by author Jack Poirier. Poirier points out some of the major historical and factual errors made by Brown. Read Poirier's article and you quickly realize the scope of the inaccuracies in Brown's book.

Register now to attend "The Continuing Quest for Insights into Jesus of Nazareth: His Words, His Wisdom, His World", a unique conference in Jerusalem featuring internationally renowned Jewish and Christian scholars, including three eminent biblical archaeologists: Ronny Reich, Gabriel Barkay and Hanan Eshel. Reich will report on the recently discovered Pool of Siloam, which he is now uncovering. (All archaeological talks will be accompanied by colorful slides.)

The exciting three-day conference (June 19-21, 2006) will be held at the beautiful Ramat Rachel Hotel and Congress Center with its breathtaking view of the Judean Desert and the Mountains of Moab. You will have an opportunity for study and fellowship with participants from Israel and around the world.

Consider this your personal invitation to attend "Jerusalem Perspective 2006." During three exciting days you will learn from students of the late David Flusser, Shmuel Safrai and Robert Lindsey. Speakers will include members of the Jerusalem School of Synoptic Research and Lenore Mullican, one of Lindsey's daughters. We also will be honored by the presence of representatives from the Flusser and Safrai families, as well as other Israelis.

Music for the evening sessions will be provided by Narkis Street Congregation musical director, Liz Kopp ("Narkis Street" is the congregation in Jerusalem that Robert Lindsey pastored for many years), and by Debbie Lindsey Dorr, Dr. Lindsey's daughter. Baritone Horst Krueger will perform songs of Jerusalem.

David Bivin's 2006 Workshops

For twenty-six years David and Josa Bivin have conducted workshops and seminars for fellow disciples of Jesus. This year's tour will feature workshops in England and the United States. An intensive educational program, each workshop will focus on difficult-to-understand (and apply) sayings of Jesus. Plan now to attend and be personally challenged by Jesus' life-giving words.
