Double Heartbreak: The Bachelor Rejects Both Women!

Tuesday November 20, 2007

It's a Bachelor first!  On Monday night's season finale, Brad Womack rejected both of the women vying for his heart and opted to remain...well, a bachelor. There was no tearful marriage proposal or even a next-best-thing promise to start dating in the real world. The hunky bar owner admitted that he didn't love either finalist, even though (and here comes the disappointing C word) he "cares" deeply for them both.

He said goodbye to Jenni despite believing that he would have a life filled with laughter with the fun-loving cheerleader.  And he rejected DeAnna, though he claims she has all the qualities of his ideal wife.

Both ladies left brokenhearted, confused, and regretful about pouring their hearts out to Brad during their final dates.   The tears were flowing as both women questioned Brad about his decision.  During the dreaded limo ride of shame, DeAnna  said  "Half of me thought I don't give a f---what he says. And the other half just could not understand."

Hopefully, DeAnna -- and the rest of us -- will get some more answers from Brad when the ladies come face to face with the sexiest bachelor ever on ABC's After the Final Rose special. The special airs Tuesday night at 10.

Please, the sexiest bachelor ever??? I don’t think so. He talked like a moron and couldn’t even express himself properly. He is such a loser! He knew he had no intention in marrying anyone, he just wanted 25 bimbos flocking over him. When will women realize this show is absolutely denigrating. With all the women’s liberation and independence, we are nothing but worse than we were before. Now we cut ourselves open to augment our breast for what? So men can look at us? Our lips, eating disorders, plastic surgery nightmares, yeah women have sure come along way. NOT!! I wish women would give themselves the respect they deserve. As for this less than desirable self proclaimed player, good riddance. Hopefully, women will see through his stunt and not try to fix him!

Well, first of all….if you have such a strong reaction to the concept of the show, and how it is a step back for women’s lib, why are you watching it? To know how he talked and what the women were like you would have to watch it a few times. By watching it, you are only encouraging the very thing that you are being critical.
That being said — he was hot (come on….did you see him with his shirt off?) Maybe he wasn’t the most well-spoken guy and who knows if the relationship would have lasted — him working late nights managing 4 bars surrounded by pretty women….) But, he’s still hot..
Or, maybe he’s gay and is trying to figure it all out.

I am not going to bash Brad or the show, because I think it was a well produced dramatic ending to another season. The hype prior to and after the finale was probably just the media attention the producers wanted. now more people will tune in to see why he chose neither of the two young ladies. I believe he knew all along and I believe others knew as well. A move like that could ruin the concept of the OR redefine it!
