Palouse River
 
 
Palouse River, c.140 mi/225 km long, in N Idaho and SE Wash.; rises in E Latah co., Idaho; flows generally W, past Palouse and Colfax, Wash., to Snake R. 22 mi/35 km NW of Dayton. Drops over Palouse Falls (198 ft/60 m high) a few miles above mouth. Wheat, barley; livestock. Region, especially Wash., is generally referred to as the Palouse Country.
