Into the future... David Tennant is now the current incarnation of the Doctor, playing the tenth version of the Time Lord for BBC television starting with "The Christmas Invasion," the 2005 Christmas special. (Though, technically, before that: in the short Children In Need special that aired in November 2005, which serves primarily as a 'prologue' for the Christmas special.) He starred alongside Billie Piper for his first series; Piper has left the show and Freema Agyeman has become his companion in the third series, broadcast through the spring of 2007. Also, a special 'interactive' adventure, "Attack of the Graske," was released on BBC Digital services, playable through the 'red button' on viewers' remotes.

Tennant has confirmed he will return for series four, which starts filming during the summer of 2007; Agyeman will likely be back as Martha for that series as well.
