CAREER

In his 235 career rushing attempts, has only be stopped behind the line of scrimmage 15 times. 81 of his carries produced first downs.
Had key rushing attempts that set up 21 touchdown drives and 11 more that resulted in field goals.
34-of-75 catches were good for first downs.
His average of 5.3 yards per rush is good for fifth on the school's all-time rushing record list, topped only by John Papit (1947-50), Terry Kirby (1989-92), Barry Word (1982-85) and Nikki Fisher (1988-91).
His 325 rushing yards in 2005 were the most by a Virginia fullback in a season since Charles Way totaled 517 yards in 1994.

Moved to tailback, playing in nine of the teams first 10 games.
Led the team and ranked fourth in the ACC with an average of 77.11 yards per game rushing.
Carried the ball 142 times for 694 yards (4.9 avg.) and seven touchdowns.
Produced 45 first-down runs as he converted 12-of-22 third down attempts.
Ranked fourth on the squad with 20 receptions and gained 904 all-purpose yards.

2005 SEASON

Competed in 12 games and was the team's primary blocker as a fullback.
Finished second on the team with 325 yards and two touchdowns on 58 carries (5.6 avg.).
His 325 yards were the most by a Virginia fullback in a season since 1994.
Led ACC fullbacks with his 325 yards.
21 of his carries resulted in first downs and helped set up three touchdown drives with six more that produced field goals.
Caught 19 passes for 140 yards. His 19 catches ranked second to Miamis Quadtrine Hill among ACC fullbacks.

2004 SEASON

Started the first five games at fullback, but suffered an ankle injury which forced him to miss the next five contests.
Started in the MPC Computers Bowl vs. Fresno State.
Rushed 26 times for 189 yards (7.3 avg.) and a TD.
13 of his carries resulted in first downs.
His 7.3 yards per carry average was the third-best in the ACC among runner that totaled 100 yards.

2003 SEASON

Missed the season with a medical redshirt.

2002 SEASON

Competed mostly on special teams, seeing action in 12 games as a true freshman.
Carried the ball nine times for 38 yards and ranked fourth on the team with a career-high 31 receptions for 314 yards and four touchdowns.
Recorded 12 tackles and recovered one fumble.
Four of his catches were for 20 yards or longer and had key catches that set up seven touchdown drives and three others that ended in field goals.

HIGH SCHOOL

Attended L.C. Bird (Richmond, Va.) High School, where he played for head coaches Ron Paquette and David Bedwell.
Four-time All-District tailback and was named to the All-Region team three times.
Gained over 3,300 yards rushing during his career, including 1,444 yards and 14 touchdowns during his senior season.
Earned Group AAA All-State honors.
Selected as the Player of the Year in his district and region and was the only senior to repeat as an All-Richmond Metro pick from the year before.
As a junior, was selected as a team, district and region most valuable player.

PERSONAL

Graduated in May 2006 with a degree in Anthropology.
Brother, Timothy (T.J.) was a standout running back at Virginia Military Institute (2000-03).
Son of Lillian and John Snelling and brother of the late John Snelling, Jr.
Involved in the Big Brother program.
