A nation whose citizens no longer lift their heads to defend it should perhaps be left to destruction. That's J.S. Mill, pioneer of Liberalism. When Democracies engage in warfare with illiberal nations, public opinion in the former may eventually bring defeat. In contrast, totalitarian theocriacies control information and punish dissent. When the so-called free media manufactures images (Reuters in Lebanon for instance) in order to exacerbate moral indignation, it is difficult to stand up for our way of life.

Dr. Salim Mansur, Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Western Ontario and senior advisor to the Canadian Coalition for Democracies, will host our presentation of "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West." Produced by Honest Reporting, a not-for-profit media observer, "Obsession" depicts the history of extant international conflicts between liberal democracies and politicized religious ideologies.
