Henry George Bohn (1796-1884)

Henry George Bohn made his name as a second-hand bookseller and publisher of cheap editions.  His famous Libraries made important literature available to a wide public.  He was a celebrated bibliographer, an art collector as well as an editor, author and translator.  This web site lists all the titles in his Libraries as well as his general publications.  There is an out-line biography and author indexes to The Bohn Bibliography.  Some work has been done in compiling bio-bibliographies of those who worked directly for Bohn as editors and translators.
