"The Heavenly Bodies" (Tom Prichard & Jimmy Del Ray) |
def. | "The Bushwhackers" (Luke & Butch) |
via Pinfall |
Notes:Del Ray pinned Butch.
Match #1 | |||
"The Rocket" Owen Hart | def. | Bret "Hitman" Hart | via Pinfall (20:18) |
Notes: Bret was on Owen's shoulders and attempted a victory roll, but Owen stepped into it and was able to get the pinfall. This was a great match, truly worthy of WrestleMania.
Match #2 - Mixed Tag-Team Match
Bam Bam Bigelow & Luna Vachon |
def. | Doink the Clown & Dink |
via Pinfall (6:09) |
Notes: Bam Bam pinned Doink. I hate clowns. Doink really had no chance in this match, and it was also fun to see Dink get kicked around. Before the match, Sy Sperling introduced Howard Finkel, sporting a new toupe.
Match #3 - Falls Count Anywhere Match
"Macho Man" Randy Savage | def. | Crush w/Mr. Fuji |
via Pinfall (9:42) |
Notes: In this match, a pinfall could occur anywhere, but if the man pinned could return to the ring in 60 seconds, the match would continue. Eventually the two brawled backstage where Macho made a pinfall. Macho then tied Crush upside down, preventing him from reaching the ring. After the match, Pettengil talked with the fake President Clinton, and IRS showed up as well.
Match #4 - WWF Women's Championship
Alundra Blayze Champion |
def. | Leilani Kai Challenger |
via Pinfall (3:24) |
Notes: Yay, way to go. Fabulous Moolah, Mae Young, Nikolai Volkoff, and Lou Albano were shown in the crowd.
Match #5 - WWF World Tag Team Championship
"Men On A Mission" (Mo & Mabel) Challengers w/Oscar |
def. | "The Quebecers" (Jacques & Pierre) Champions w/Johnny Polo |
via Countout (7:43) |
Notes: Pierre got splashed by Mabel outside the ring, and was laid out there for a 10-count.
Match #6 - WWF World Heavyweight Championship
Yokozuna Champion w/Mr. Fuji, James E. Cornette |
def. | Lex Luger Challenger |
via DQ (14:40) |
Notes: Rhonda Shear was the guest timekeeper and Donnie Wahlberg was the guest ring announcer. Mr. Perfect was introduced as the guest referee. Lex Luger had knocked out Yokozuna and could have won, but instead for going for the pin, he pulled Fuji and Cornette into the ring and attacked them. Luger finally covered Yoko, but Mr. Perfect was trying to revive the managers. Luger got pissed and shoved Perfect, causing the DQ.
Match #7 | |||
Earthquake | def. | Adam Bomb w/Harvey Whippleman |
via Pinfall (0:34) |
Notes: Harvey got in the ring and started badmouthing Finkel. Finkel shoved him down, and Adam Bomb came to defend his manager. Earthquake snuck out next, and got Bomb from behind.
Match #8 - WWF Intercontinental Championship - Ladder Match
Razor Ramon Champion |
def. | Shawn Michaels Challenger w/Diesel |
(18:45) |
Notes: In late '93, Michaels was stripped of the title, and Razor later won it. When Michaels returned from his injury, he claimed that he was still the champion and even had his own belt. This was a match to determine the undisputed Intercontinental champion. This ladder match set the standard for all those to follow.
Match That Never Was - Ten-Man Tag Team Match
Irwin R. Schyster "Double J" Jeff Jarrett "The Model" Rick Martel "The Headshrinkers" (Fatu & Samu) |
vs. | Tatanka Marty Jannetty 1-2-3 Kid "The Smoking Gunns" (Billy & Bart Gunn) |
|
Notes: This match never happened. It was on the card and built up in the magazine, but all that was shown was IRS and the other heels arguing in the back about who was going to be the captain. McMahon said, "I guess we aren't going to see the ten man tag." Sure. And after that footage, we saw Ted DiBiase chilling in the presidential box with the fake Bill Clinton.
Match #9 - WWF World Heavyweight Championship
Bret "Hitman" Hart Challenger |
def. | Yokozuna Champion w/Mr. Fuji, James E. Cornette |
via Pinfall (10:31) |
Notes: Burt Reynolds was the guest ring announcer, Jenny Garth the guest timekeeper, and and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper was the guest referee. Bret fought valiantly, but was banged up from his bout with Owen. Yoko was about to give the Banzai Drop when he lost his balance and fell from the second rope. Bret capitalized and made the cover. All the faces came from the back and celebrated with Bret in the ring. Owen appeared in the aisle, but just couldn't bring himself to join them. |
