So I’ve been doing all these machinedrum loops, and I’ve started to sequence them in ableton to get a feel for my liveset.

I kind of had a stupid revelation this weekend regarding techno, so I have been trying to produce some things which I’ll use in a liveset in january. As with the previous liveset, I want to do everything on the machinedrum, and I have to say that it fits quite well for techno. Still, I have to practice a lot and learn a lot of stuff still, especially being very careful about what I do, cause it’s quite easy to lose the flow. Here is an excerpt from my first test, a part which is “okish”, not great at all, but at least not a complete mess. This is directly inspired by plastikman stuff

My first try at building a complete track with all the new ideas I’m having, and I have to say it’s quite difficult. I spent the whole day building ideas, trying out sounds, ended with a whole whole lot of stuff. Played the guitar, the bass, tweaked stuff through the nord, recorded the machinedrum etc… and now I’m trying to put it together. I think I start to see where this is going, but it will need a few more days. So here is the first sketch:

Just replugged my midi keyboard, and it really is fun jamming with it. So not a very eloborate beat or form or sound design today, just some keyboard melodic jamming. Collecting stuff for the album…

I’m quite busy, so no real song-a-days, and actually I think I’m going to start gathering material for an album. I have found back a bit to the way I used to jam when I started, and I always quite liked what came out. Here some stupid shit I’ve been doing over the weekend, gathering stuff.
