Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign for the White House is expected to get the endorsement of every prominent fellow Illinois lawmaker except one – Rahm Emanuel.
Instead, Emanuel – the new head of the Democratic Caucus in the House – will almost definitely throw his support behind Sen. Hillary Clinton in the 2008 race, reports syndicated columnist Robert Novak.
The Chicago-area congressman was close to Hillary and President Bill Clinton when he served as a White House aide. He said last year that he was supporting Clinton in 2008, although that was before Obama entered the race.

Meanwhile Emanuel’s brother Ari Emanuel, a prominent Hollywood agent, is supporting Obama and is throwing a major fund-raiser for the Illinois senator in February.
