Quinn Harris is a pilot who takes a job flying journalist Robin Monroe and her boyfriend, Frank Martin, on a trip to a romantic island in the South Pacific. Accompanying Quinn on the trip is his own girlfriend, Angelica. When Robin is called by her editor and asked to quickly fly to Tahiti to cover a fashion event, she convinces Quinn to fly her there. Despite his dislike for her, he agrees and the two set off. On the way there, his plane crashes on a remote island and the two must struggle to stay alive while being pursued by a band of modern-day pirates. Eventually, their frosty relationship blossoms into a romantic one, but will they ever be able to escape the island and actually make a go for it as a couple?

Ms. Heche and Mr. Ford make an appealing, wisecracking team, and they look comfortable with the rugged demands of their roles.

An acceptable star vehicle, no better or worse than it should be, a well-worn standard diversion that gets the job done without eliciting either howls of fury or paroxysms of delight.
