The End of Violence is a 1997 thriller starring Bill Pullman and directed by Wim Wenders (Wings of Desire). Mike Max (Bill Pullman) is a successful movie producer working on a big-budget action flick titled "Violence." Mike's wife Paige (Andie MacDowell), however, is unhappy with her superficial Hollywood life and decides to leave Mike. When Mike barely escapes a kidnapping and murder attempt that leaves his abductors dead, he is left shaken and uncomfortable about the choices he has made. Mike is rescued by a Mexican gardener and decides to disappear by moving in with the gardener's family. At the same time, a computer scientist, Ray Bering (Gabriel Byrne), begins to worry that the surveillance equipment he has designed for the government is being used for the wrong ends. Detective "Doc" Brock (Loren Dean), meanwhile, is closing in on Mike, who is the prime suspect in a brutal killing. As they come closer to learning the truth, the three men must come to terms with the role of violence in their lives.moreless
