Trash is a 1970 American film written and directed by Paul Morrissy and presented by Andy Warhol. The movie, also know by its alternate title Andy Warhol's Trash, centers on a heroin addict named Joe (Joe Dallesandro) and his quest to score as many drugs as possible. The episodic plot takes place in a single day and chronicles Joe's encounters with various women, all of whom want to get in his pants. What Joe wants is not sex but drugs; he's an unapologetic junkie whose life entails drifting from one partner to another, holing up here and there, doing whatever women want as long as he thinks they'll give him money. During the course of the day, Joe attempts to fool Welfare into approving his methadone treatment by having his girlfriend Holly (transvestite Holly Woodlawn) fake a pregnancy, frustrates several of the women in his life with his drug-induced impotence and nearly overdoses right in front of a upperclass couple.
