White Christmas is a classic 1954 favorite inspired by the song, and marks the debut of Paramount's VistaVision wide-screen technique. The story begins at a World War II Christmas Eve show, where performers Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye decide to form an entertainment duo. Later they they connect with song and dance sister duo, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen. The group teams up to work at a resort in Vermont, which happens to be owned by Crosby and Kaye's former World War II commander, played by Dean Jagger. Unfortunately, even though it is December, the temperature is 68 degrees Fahrenheit. There is no snow, there are no tourists, and the resort is in danger of going under. With the help of their army connections, the quartet works hard to produce a Christmas Eve show that will save the day, finding romance along the way. With music by Irving Berlin and ballads, torch songs, up-tempo numbers and complicated dance routines performed by these iconic entertainers, a successful show is inevitable.
