David has nine siblings. He went to a boy's school in Manchester where he got his first acting experience at the age of 12.
David became a student assistant stage manager at a local theatre when he was 17. At such a young age he was able to learn all aspects of the theatre. David knows a little about being a prop-maker, sound-man, writer, stage sweeper, waiter and tea-maker.
David worked long hours at the theatre for two years, becoming a student at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. David left the school before graduation to pursue his acting career

David has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and has graced the stage at the Royal National Theatre. He also performed in musicals and plays on the West End stage in London.
