Towed Guns - G5
The G5 is a proven, reliable and accurate 155 mm long-range
gun with an auxiliary power unit. The auxiliary power-unit
provides hydraulic power for easy and rapid deployment,
as well as giving the gun a self-propelled capability
for tactical movement. The G5 system has been developed
for modern warfare. Intensive testing under all possible
conditions, as well as continuous feedback from military
operations to the design engineers, have resulted in
a gun that is not only immensely practical, but also
extremely reliable and user-friendly.
Self-Propelled Guns - G6
The G6 is a proven, highly mobile and accurate 155
mm long-range gun. The high-speed, wheeled chassis
provides excellent strategic mobility over long ranges.
The G6 system has been developed for modern warfare.
Its on-board equipment and supplies provide a high
degree of operational autonomy and ultra-quick reaction
time.
Integrated Artillery and Ballistic Systems
The effective integration of the systems elements,
that enable the artillery to engage a target, requires
each system to function optimally and together within
the total system. Artillery requires command and control,
target acquisition and fire direction, ballistic computing,
target allocation, selection and delivery of projectiles
and the reporting of target effect. An integrated artillery
system must combine the different system elements to
achieve an effective end result.
Ammunition > Charges
The 155 mm Modular Propelling Charge System is a breakthrough
in charge design and represents the latest in technology.
The design includes innovations such as the use of
combustible cases, cool-burning propellants and purpose-designed
ignition systems. From the outset these charges were
designed for optimum cost effectiveness, low barrel
erosion, ease of handling and versatility in field
usage.
Ammunition > Fuses
The PD M841 Fuze is a point detonating fuze with 0.05
sec. delay mode. The fuze can be used on all 155 mm
HE artillery shells and is also base bleed and flick
rammer compatible. It can be fired from all 155 mm artillery
gun systems inclusive of 52-calibre.
Base Bleeds
The base bleed unit increases the range of a
155 mm gun howitzer projectile. It does not augment
the thrust initially imparted to the projectile,
but extends its range by reducing base drag.
this extended range is achieved without compromising
accuracy of payload volume.
Assegai 155 mm HE shell, designed to meet JBMoU
requirements whilst fulfilling insensitive munition
criteria and offering increased terminal effectiveness
against infrastructure and semi-hard targets.
Can be used with PD SQ, proximity and MEF fuzes,
MCS and existing bagged charges in NATO and compatible
155 mm howitzers of 39- to 52- calibre configurations.
V-LAP(Velocity Enhanced Long Range Artillery
Projectile ) V-LAP is a rocket assisted 155 mm projectile
that will extend operational range of most 39,
45 and 52 calibre 155 mm gun howitzers by ±10
kilometres, depending on the gun and charge used.
Dispersion specification is the same as that
for standard ERFB ammunition.
ERFB Carrier Shell This is an extended range full bore
(ERFB) 155 mm carrier shell which can accommodate
a variety of payloads. These are deployed bay
base ejection using precise electronic time fuze
whilst ensures that deployment occurs at the
optimum height above the designated area.
105 mm Towed Gun-Howitzer Under
Development
The system is the latest 105mm light weight Artillery
Technology Demonstrator developed for the artillery.
The gun system is accurate, transportable by helicopter
and can be towed by 5 ton 4X4 vehicle. The 105 mm is
being developed to satisfy the users requirements for
modern day warfare.
Ammunition - Igala
105 mm natural fragmenting IHE shell, for use with
a super quick/delay, proximity or multi-option fuze
in the LEO, L118, M119 and other compatible 105mm howitzers.
The shell is IM-Compliant.
