Work Your Assets Like Beyoncé!

By Kadidja Hinds

Posted Sept. 25, 2007 -- As if an award-winning music career, acting and running your own clothing line, while finding time to collaborate on a new fragrance isn’t enough, Beyoncé also manages to dress so well that she always looks great, no matter what she’s doing when the paparazzi snap her.

Beyoncé describes herself as down-to-earth and says her choice of clothing reflects her personality. “I would rather listen than talk. I would rather wear flats than heels. I would rather lie on a beach than shop.”

She also says a beautiful woman is one who is confident and comfortable in her own skin. “I don’t try too hard to be sexy. Understated is better than overstated.”

There’s no denying that Beyoncé is a style icon on and off the red carpet. But just how does she do it?

Body Type
Beyoncé never misses an opportunity to flaunt her voluptuous figure. Whether she’s on stage in an original and often scandalous costume, designed by her mother no less or vacationing at St. Tropez with Jay-Z, Beyoncé’s unafraid to shake what her mamma gave her. One can only stare star-struck at her dangerously curvaceous body, bootylicious booty, and her long, shapely legs.

Elements of Style
Beyoncé knows how to work it, wearing clothes that complement her curves. She’s got hips and flaunts them in form-fitting, vintage gowns and designer dresses with slits from ankle to waist that show off her hourglass figure. When not on the red carpet, Beyoncé still looks fabulous in a tight pair of Dereon jeans. When dressing down in denim and a simple top, Beyoncé adds a pair of big, chandelier earrings or trendy bag to ensure her look is still sophisticated. She also loves plunging necklines and sweetheart style corsets – anything to accentuate her assets. And with any diva, her favorite fabrics are ones that either sparkle or shine.
