Welcome

The Office of Systems Safety and Mission Assurance (OSSMA) Is committed to ensuring the highest probability of mission success. OSSMA is responsible for the overall management and implementation of GSFC policy in the areas of systems safety and mission assurance. OSSMA supports GSFC’s programs and projects by:

  • Fostering early integration and life cycle implementation of safety, reliability, and quality assurance
  • Ensuring flow-down of Agency assurance requirements to GSFC programs and projects
  • Providing independent insight into issues and risks
  • Certifying compliance with safety and mission assurance requirements
  • Providing authoritative predictions of cost, workforce, and resources necessary to ensure mission success
