After a long winter break, Mido returned back back to action and scored as Ajax played away against Willem II in the Dutch Casino Eredivisie. The Egyptian struck the 6th goal late in the game while Zlatan who played from the start scored twice.

Mido played for few minutes and scored

The coach Ronald Koeman didn't select Mido as a starter but instead, he started with both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Andy Van der Meyde at front in a 4-4-2 formation.

First half:

It took Ajax only 8 minutes to prove that they were the better side. Their star Andy Van der Meyde intercepted a pass outside the area, moved well between the defenders and fired a rising shot which went into the roof of the net.

After the goal, Ajax continued to control the game completely and wasted another chance when Pienaar sent a through pass to Zlatan in the area but the keeper came out of his net and stopped the ball before the Swede striker.

In the 13th min. Zlatan scored the 2nd when he stole the ball from Willem's last man, became one on one with the keeper and placed the ball beyond him into the back of the net.

Minutes later, Willem II tried to get back into the game as Landzaat sent a shot from long range at goal but his shot gazed the crossbar.

Later, Van der Meyde replied with a shot from outside the area but it went just over the bar.

In the 29th min. Van der Meyde made a solo effort and dribbled into the area. He was pushed there by a defender and the referee pointed to the spot. Chivu scored the 3rd for Ajax from the penalty kick.

In the last minutes of the first half, Willem II had a golden opportunity to score when Lobont couldn't stop a long range shot and the ball bounced back to find one of Willem II players in the area. However, the player hit the ball into the side netting instead of the goal.

Second half:

After only few seconds from the kick off of the 2nd half, Galasek scored the 4th for Ajax. It was a long ball from Chivu, the defense couldn't clear the ball and it went to Galasek who had only the keeper to beat and scored with ease.

Minutes later, Zlatan was about to score in a similar fashion but he squandered the chance. He received another long ball which made him one on one with the keeper but his shot went into the arms of the keeper and the defense cleared the danger.

Willem II had an only one dangerous attempt at goal in the 2nd half but Ajax' keeper Lobont came out of his goal on time and deflected the dangerous shot away.

In the 60th minute, Sneijder tried a shot but the ball came off a defender, hit the bar and bounced back to find the onside Van der Meyde who hit it on the volley over the bar.

In the 65th minute, Zlatan added his personal 2nd and the fifth for Ajax from a brilliant solo effort. He got the ball at the edge of the area, dribbled past the defenders and squeezed a shot with his right away from the keeper's reach to make it 5-0 for Ajax.

In the 67th minute, Koeman decided to rest Zlatan and to give Mido his chance.

Immediately after he came in, Mido passed the ball to Sneijder who hit low low at goal but the fine shot went centimeters wide.

Mido celebrate after his goal

In the 79th minute, Mido scored the 6th for Ajax. Pienaar sent a good through pass to the onside Egyptian who had only the keeper to beat. Mido reacted well as he put the ball over the body of the keeper and scored.
