Description
Available for the first time on CD, this deliciously creepy, way-before-its-time alternative rock classic was originally released in 1983 on Exit Records, and was produced by Steven Soles. Millenium 8 Records re-issued it in 2000. Not only were the 77s his backing band on the original never-released albums titled Moving Pictures, and Rice, but they also back him up on the four previously unreleased bonus tracks which appear only here. British new-wave dominates, with similarities to David Bowie, Roxy Music, The Police, and of course the 77s. Several songs also feature vocal inflections reminiscent of Lou Reed. Lyrically it's deep and brilliant, but it took a long time for CCM critics to grasp just what an avant garde masterpiece it was. Figures, doesn't it? An artist, like a prophet, has no honor in his own country. Selah. Songs include: 'Tower Of Babel,' 'No Time Like Now,' 'Wall Of Tears,' 'This Sad Music,' 'Love In the Western World,' 'Safety In Numbers,' 'Walking On Water Wasn't Built In A Day,' 'Flesh and Blood,' 'Different Kind Of Light,' 'More Than A Dream,' 'Call Of the Wild (live),' 'Love In the Western World (live),' and 'When the Fight Is Over.' The rear tray insert only lists 12 songs. Track number 12 is not listed for some reason. 13 tracks TT: 54:58 4-page insert w/Steve's comments on each song
