Norwood Gardens from a book published in
the 1920s by the Chamber of Commerce.
The red brick and white stucco is accentuated by iron balconies and lattice
work. The cornices of tiles or brick are a pleasing contrast. Deep front
yards with a variety of evergreens and flourishing shrubs make 36th Street
between 30th Avenue and 31st Avenue delightful block. A landmark worthy
community.
A protester with the sign, "4 stories
tall we do NOT want it at all"
In Summer 2002, a 4-story, 50 foot high building was built in the
middle of the block. The building is higher than the rest of the single family houses that are only about
22 feet in height.
