Sunday Night Heat Match (RAW) | |||
---|---|---|---|
Scott Steiner | def. | Rico | via Pinfall (2:27) |
Notes: So much for that huge free agent signing of Scott Steiner. Two title shots and BOOM! Now he's on Heat. | |||
Match #1 - WWE Tag Team Championship (SMDN) | |||
"Team Angle" (Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas) Champions |
def. | "Los Guerreros" (Eddie & Chavo Guerrero) Challengers |
via Pinfall (15:03) |
Notes: Team Angle brought out a large portrait of Kurt Angle, who "was there in spirit." Haas pinned Chavo while Benjamin held Chavo's legs down from outside the ring, just like Bobby Heenan and Rick Rude did to Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania V. The Guerreros left with the belts and rode off in their lowrider. | |||
Match #2 (SMDN) | |||
Sean O'Haire w/Roddy Piper |
def. | Rikishi | via Pinfall (4:54) |
Notes: Piper came out first with a basket of coconuts. Piper tried using a coconut on Rikishi, but the tables were turned and Piper got nailed with the nut. But the distraction was enough to give O'Haire an opening for the win. | |||
Match #3 - WWE World Tag Team Championship (RAW) | |||
Rob Van Dam & Kane Champions |
def. | "The Dudley Boyz" (D-Von & Bubba Ray Dudley) Challengers |
via Pinfall (12:59) |
Notes: Chief Sean Morley was the guest referee. Morley was going to hit RVD but hit Bubba instead. The Dudleys promptly took out Morley, and then a running-in Lance Storm. But by this time RVD and Kane collected themselves enough to get the victory. RVD pinned Bubba. | |||
Match #4 - WWE Women's Championship (RAW) | |||
Jazz Challenger w/Theodore Long |
def. | Trish Stratus Champion |
via Pinfall (5:50) |
Notes: -TITLE CHANGE- So much for the white chick getting a break. Theodore and Jazz pulled out all the stops. At one point, Teddy even threw his shoe into the ring in order to break up the count. Jazz got the pin by holding onto the ropes. | |||
Match #5 (SMDN) | |||
The Big Show | def. | Rey Mysterio | via Pinfall (3:47) |
Notes: Rey Mysterio got in a few moves, but in the end it was like a fly trying to beat on a rhino. Rey even tried using a chair, but it didn't matter. Show won afte a huge chokeslam. After the match, some paramedics were putting Mysterio on a longboard when Show decided to come back. In one of the greatest moments I've ever seen, he swung the board, with Mysterio strapped to it, and slammed it right into the ring post. Mysterio landed right on his head. It was hilarious. | |||
Match #6 - WWE World Heavyweight Championship (SMDN) | |||
Brock Lesnar Champion |
def. | John Cena Challenger |
via Pinfall (15:11) |
Notes: I was hugely disappointed in the outcome of this match. John Cena had quite a bit of crowd support here, and should have won. That dumbs*** Brock Lesnar was even getting booed at points, and the crowd was dead when he won. Personally, I think Brock is the most boring character in wrestling, and very overrated. I predict he will get old soon, since he can't carry a promo to save his life. People will tire of him running around like an ape and F5ing everyone. Go to hell, Brock! | |||
Match #7 - Six-Man Tag Team Match (RAW) | |||
Triple H Ric Flair Chris Jericho |
def. | Booker T Shawn Michaels Kevin Nash |
via Pinfall (17:50) |
Notes: Triple H pinned Nash after hitting him with the sledgehammer. | |||
Match #8 (RAW) | |||
Goldberg | def. | The Rock | via Pinfall (13:01) |
Notes: Surprising "Goldberg Sucks" chant going on at points. Rock was in great shape, taunting the crowd while dishing it out to Goldberg. But Bill ended up spearing Rock twice in a row (3 times total) and then giving him the jackhammer for the victory. And, once again changing what works, WWE changed Goldberg's music. Anyway, who's next? |
