Freshman Scholar Helps Animal Cancer Patients
Derek Van Uffelen, a student in the Freshman Scholars Program, and Dr. Joseph "Fred" Harmon, an assistant professor and medical physicist, are working on cranial fixation devices that will hold dogs and cats in place to ensure that their treatments provide the maximum benefit in killing cancer cells while limiting exposure of healthy cells.

Kate Browne and Lori Peek are working with evacuees in Colorado to document their stories about the hurricane its aftermath. They have created a Web site and are working with Emmy-winning documentary filmmaker Virginia Martin to create the film "Finding a Way Back".
