Talk:SCP-004

From Scp Wiki

Cthulhu references are linked greatly with "Official Discussion" due to Bloop and other oceanic recordings of the sort. It adds depth and caution to the case. It is not Dramatic, just subsequent with the unknown and study of our new possessions. Horror is the base for these, let loose with the more cultural ghost stories.

The problem with this is that it reads far too dramatically. These are not supposed to read like ghost stories, but like clipped, truncated summaries for officials to read. Leaving out details is often more effective than leading them in. As soon as I'm done with my latest SCP, I'll post a revision of this on my talk page. And don't refer to Joke SCP's in ones concerned with Serious Business. --Eberstrom 22:03, 21 February 2008 (EST)

You're way too liberal with the "terminations", to the point where I'm wondering if you use them just so you don't have to describe a lengthier and more logical procedure. At the very least, use "silenced" to tell what happened to the teenagers. Remember, whatever orgenization this is obviously dosent automatically consider itself above the law and public, only when termination and drastic measures are genuinely for the good of mankind. So which one is 004-2: the keys or the wooden box? The beginning of the article says that 004-2 refers to the keys, but then there's the box thing tacked on the end... obviously it can't be both. --Xenoglossy

Needs to lose the Xbox and Cthulhu references, re-write certain sentences.

It's a pretty good ghost story, but that's not what these are about. If no one objects, I'm going to reformat this later in the week, losing the unimportant details. Maybe we should move the original somewhere? Aiden 06:00, 23 March 2008 (EST)

I am the original author, and I have no objections. I only want it to be better. --deusprogrammer

The Xbox 360 jokes need to go, but it was still an ok read.

I'll have a go at revising this based on the suggestions made so far. // Made a few very minor changes, including removal of the X-Box joke. Someone with more experience at revising these can remove the Cthulhu references if they wish; I left them in out of a fear of screwing it up. --Sen 16:13, 9 April 2008 (EDT)
