Emeka is new coach

Panaji: Former Nigerian World Cupper Emeka Ezeugo has signed in as the head coach of Churchill Brothers Soccer Club.

Ezeugo replaces Moroccan Karim Bencherifa, who resigned in March to join Mohun Bagan.

Churchill Brothers’ patron Churchill Alemao said they are proud to have Emeka as the coach and his club was looking forward to reaching newer heights this season.

Emeka, who played for East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting, has tremendous experience behind him. He has toured Malaysia, Singapore, Bangladesh, Denmark, Spain and Hungary.

While the United States remains his recent destination where he played and coached of late before grabbing the Churchill Brothers offer.

Emeka, who is coaching an Indian club for the first time, will join Churchill Brothers in June.

Churchill Brothers has retained most of the players who played last season. — PTI
