Julian Bennett has been named Nottingham Forest's Player of the Year.

The powerhouse defender, who will be presented with his award before today's game, joins a long list of celebrated players who have collected the coveted title.

He told us: "I can't believe that I am following a list of players that includes the likes of Stuart Pearce and Des Walker and many famous names before them.

"It's great to win a supporters' award: I suppose you could say I wear my heart on my sleeve whenever I play for Forest. It has got me in a bit of trouble in the past but whenever I speak to supporters it's the thing they really like about me."

Bennett's co-defenders Wes Morgan and Kelvin Wilson finished second and third in the poll respectively.

James Reid has been named as the Young Player of the Year and the England Under 18 international will also be presented with his award by Academy Director Nick Marshall before the game.
