Health: An Essential Component of the Development Goals Set Forth in the Declaration of the Millennium.
The Development Goals set forth in the United Nations Millennium Declaration reflect an unprecedented political consensus on the state of the world and its vision for the future. They establish measurable targets and specific timetables for the progress of humankind. These targets can be met if we are capable of turning them into the banner, the dreams, the aspirations, and the demands of individuals, groups, families, communities, and nations.

Annual Report of the Director 1996: Healthy People, Healthy Spaces
Although there may well be modern versions of the concept of a good that might be at variance with Aristotle's, the view that health may be found among the goods to be created and nurtured by associations remains as one of our working hypotheses. Plus, health itself may lead to the formation of associations in particular spaces that, in turn, contribute to other equally desirable goods. (Official Document, © PAHO, 1996)
